Description: Unleash your multidimensional creativity! See how geometry, art, and science are connected and how math and art support each other. Create beautiful designs with the ancient art of origami. Learn basic engineering concepts and discover which shapes are used to build the strongest structures. Investigate geometric shapes in nature by digging into the crystal structure of different minerals. This camp will spark curiosity and innovation!
Instructor: Samantha Royer
A little about your instructor: Samantha Royer teaches for the School of Education at UAF. Before UAF, Samantha worked for the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, where she most recently taught math at West Valley High School while coaching swimming. Samantha’s passion is helping people see the beauty in math and that everyone can be a math person.
