Circus Arts Camp

Grades 2 - 3: June 10 - 14 (Week 3), 9 AM - 4 PM (Full-day!) (waitlist only!)

Grades 4 - 6: July 15 - 19 (Week 7), 9 AM - 4 PM (Full-day!) (waitlist only!)

Location: Golden Heart Performing Arts, Fairbanks Alaska

Cost: $450

Description: Beginning with the basics of Aerial and Acrobatic Arts, students will have a high-intensity full-body warm-up, learning the pike, tuck, straddle, hollow body, arched body, and a few partner acrobatic tricks! Students start low to be comfortably suspended off the ground on aerial silks, Lyra hoop, and dance trapeze. Requisites: 1) Students must be comfortable being upside down, and 2) have good listening skills. All skill levels are welcome!

Instructor: Teal Belz

A little about your instructor: Teal Belz is the Artistic Director of Golden Heart Performing Arts, an aerial and acrobatic arts studio in Fairbanks, Alaska. Having studied dance from different regions of the world, Belz appreciates that movement is for every body and seeks to spread education in movement-based-arts throughout her community as an Artist in Residence. Belz holds several certifications including 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training and a certified Instructor in the internationally acclaimed Acrobatic Arts program. Belz started her aerial and acrobatics journey while attending her alma mater, the University of Alaska Fairbanks where she currently teaches recreation as an Adjunct Instructor.
