Description: The Fairbanks Shakespeare Theater is seeking all young sailors for swashbuckling, shanty singing, treasure hunting, and all the pirate jokes you can muster. Get ready to practice your “ARRRS” and “AYES” and learn how to dress, walk, and talk like the buccaneer you were born to be!
Instructor: Emily Yates
A little about your instructor: Emily has performed in regional, touring, and off-Broadway productions and as a UCLA Guest Artist. In 2019, she provided the English dubbed voice of 'Pilar' on the Netflix International hit, “Money Heist." In addition, she has worked in multiple off-stage/off-camera positions and currently serves as the executive director of Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre. She's excited to share her love of all things piratical with sailors young and old.
Assistant Instructor: Jivan Gordon-Wolfe
A little about Jivan: Jivan Gordon-Wolfe is active in our local theater community, having appeared in productions with FLOT, FDA, and FST. He has also worked as an assistant teacher in summer camps with both FST and FDA. When not performing in a production, he spends his time training and teaching martial arts, where he has achieved the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in TKD. He also works on and assists with training actors in the art and skill of stage fighting.
