Olympus Demigod Reading Camp Book 1

Grades: 6 - 8

Dates & Times: July 14 - 18 (Week 7), 9 AM - 4 PM (Full-day!)

Location: Murie 107, UAF Campus

Cost: $400

Description: Join us on a reading and live-action role-playing (LARP) journey and bring Percy Jackson's Lighting Thief to life! In the morning, we will read with interactive activities to collect clues from the chapters. In the afternoon, we will use the information we gathered from the reading to complete interactive quests. There will be sword fighting, monsters to conquer, and quests to complete. Come ready to read, run through the woods, and live the stories we read!

Olympus Demigod Reading Camp Book 2

Dates & Times: July 21 - 25 (Week 8), 9 AM - 4 PM (Full-day!)

Description: You do not need to take Book 1 camp to join us for Book 2! The adventure continues with Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters! This is the second book in the series, and we’re taking it to the next level with live-action role-playing (LARP) to bring Percy’s world to life! We’ll dive into the book with exciting activities to uncover hidden clues from the chapters. Think puzzles, challenges, and discovering secrets about Percy’s next big quest. Armed with our gathered clues, you’ll step into Percy’s shoes! Get ready to battle monsters, solve ancient mysteries, and complete heroic quests. There will be sword fighting, mythological creatures, and plenty of action as we explore and conquer challenges in the great outdoors. Grab your demigod energy and prepare for a day of reading, adventuring, and epic fun! Come ready to unleash your inner hero, run through the woods, and LIVE the stories you love!

A little about your instructor: Gwendolyn has been a music teacher with the FNSBSD since 2009 and has directed and performed in numerous shows throughout the Fairbanks theater community. She loves music, teaching, acting, reading, and costume-making, and Live Action role playing (LARP). She is looking forward to working with campers this summer!
