Intro to Strength Training

Grades: 9 - 12

Dates & Times: June 10 - 28 (Week 3 - Week 5), 3 PM - 4 PM, On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (waitlist only!)

Location: Student Recreation Center, UAF Campus

Cost: $195

Description: A 3-week class designed for beginners that uses selectorized machines, free weights, and functional movement exercises with an emphasis on proper technique. Students follow a written 3-week strength training program that is tailored to their needs. This class will meet three days per week.

Instructor: Chris McComb

A little about your instructor: I am the Assistant Director for Wellness for Nanook Recreation and have been a fitness professional for the past 20 years. I worked as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach for 17 years, working with athletes of all levels, ranging from middle school to professional athletes. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a USA Weightlifting Advanced Sports Performance Coach (level 2).
