Knitting Camp

Grades: 4 - 6

Dates & Times: June 10 - 14 (Week 3), 9 AM - 12 PM (waitlist only!)

Location: Murie 107, UAF Campus

Cost: $195

Description: Learn to knit or expand your knitting skills this summer! Campers will learn basic knitting skills such as casting on, knitting and purling stitches, changing colors, decreasing, and binding off. Make things that are fun and functional! New and experienced knitters are welcome.

Instructor: Dori Olsen

A little about your instructor: Dori is a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in Anchorage. She is retired now but has taught orchestra classes in the FNSB School District for 27 years. She is a member of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra, where she has played for 41 years, and plays with the Juneau Symphony Orchestra when needed. Dori is actively involved in the music community and volunteers as a UA Museum of the North docent. She enjoys knitting, walking, biking, and cooking in her free time. Dori is excited to share her love of knitting with campers this summer.
