Musical Aesop Adventure

Grades: 4 - 6

Description: Learn about singing and sing some songs that highlight selected adventures from Aesop! The participants will present the fables in a reader's theater-style format, and we will sing the funny songs together. Each of the songs associated with a fable is written in a different style of music, allowing for an introduction to various musical genres. Eight fables will be presented, and participants will select the ones they'd like to work on to present in the final concert.

Instructor: Janice Trumbull

A little about your instructor: Janice Trumbull retired from teaching in the public school system in May 2009 and realized the fulfillment of a life-long dream when her private school, Northern Lights Academy, opened. She also operates Sun Valley Studios, her private voice studio. Miss Trumbull grew up in Fairbanks and, as a student at West Valley High School, was selected for the Alaska All-State Honor Choir three times, was selected to represent Alaska in the All-Northwest Honor Choir, and traveled to Europe with America’s Youth in Concert. She currently teaches private voice and conducts numerous local choral groups, and serves as the Artistic Director for the Northland Center for Choral Arts, which encompasses the Northland Youth Choir, Aurora Women's Chorale, Borealis Men's Chorale, Sing-It-Yourself Messiah and the Discover Choir.
