Rock Band Camp

Grades: 6 - 12

Dates & Times: August 4 - 8 (Week 10), 10 AM - 4 PM (Full-day!)

Location: Gruening 208, UAF Campus

Cost: $400

Description: Do you feel the beat? Do you want to jam? Do you need to rock? Come to Rock Band Camp and learn the basics of being in a rock band. In this one-week camp, learn to play your first three rock songs on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, or any other instrument you bring in! We will write songs and study beginning music theory and rock history. We will work together to create an epic rock show! The week will culminate with a live performance for friends and family.

No experience is needed! The instructors will work with all ability levels.

Instructor: Carey Seward

A little about Carey: Carey Seward is a playwright and musician in Fairbanks, Alaska. She has worked with the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre as a company member over the last 20 years, most recently as Director of the summer mainstage A Midsummer Night's Dream (2022) and Music Director for Macbeth (2019). As a teaching artist, Seward works as an Artist in the Schools (2004-2023), teaching drama, playwriting, and Shakespeare.
