Description: Come and learn American Sign Language (ASL) with us! Campers will learn the basics of ASL, such as the alphabet, numbers, colors, food, animals, and family, through fun, engaging activities, games, and crafts! It will be a great opportunity to learn how to use your hands and facial expressions to communicate with others.
Instructor: Tasheana Dever
A little about your instructor: Tish is a veteran interpreter of 13 years. She holds degrees in Interpreter education and Deaf Community Studies as well as multiple certifications in various sectors of Sign Language. As an active member of the Deaf community, she has a passion for Deaf culture, teaching ASL Levels I-IV, and fostering student confidence in expressive/receptive skills. Join us this summer where volume is not an issue, we talk with our mouths full and encourage constant movement! :)
