Instructor: Carey Seward
A little about me: Carey Seward is a playwright and musician in Fairbanks, Alaska. She has worked with the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre as a company member over the last 20 years, most recently as Director of the summer mainstage A Midsummer Night's Dream (2022) and Music Director for Macbeth (2019). As a teaching artist, Seward works as an Artist in the Schools (2004-2023), teaching drama, playwriting, and Shakespeare. Seward loved being a part of Theatre Alaska’s AK Writer’s Workshop (2021) and is a board member of the International Center for Women Playwrights. Seward is a proud alum of the Theatre/Film UAF (2005) and is honored to have received a Connie Boochever Fellowship (2021) from the Alaska State Council on the Arts.
Groundlings Shakespeare Academy

Dates & Times: June 12 - 30 (Week 2 - 4), Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 4 PM

Cost: $950
Description: Groundlings is a three-week study in Shakespeare, including drama games, acting lessons, text analysis, scene work, and sonnets. Students will develop public speaking skills, stage presence, and self-confidence. The camp will culminate in a performance of a short version of one of Shakespeare's comedies. Performances will take place on June 30 and July 1 at 7pm.
