Description: No experience necessary. In this introductory sewing camp, we will learn the basics of hand and machine sewing. We will start with threading a needle but by the end of the camp, you’ll feel confident using a sewing machine and will have lots of new projects to take home. We’ll make a pin book, fleece hat and neck gaiter, a pillow with a case, a tote bag made from recycled material and a frankenhoodie (a hoodie made out of other hoodies).
Instructor: Marla Statscewich
A little about Marla: Marla has 35+ years of sewing experience and most recently taught the sewing class at the Visual Arts Academy at UAF for 12-17 year olds. She is self taught and loves to experiment with fabric.
